We study organic synthesis and methodology! Read our research summaries and publications! We also love bringing scientists together. The group is involved in the organization of the FloHet Conference, among many other outreach activities.

The lab bids farewell to Mariana Alves, Dr. Breanna Tomiczek, and Dr. Vincent Vedovato. Congrats to Mariana and Breanna on completing your degrees!!! Congrats to Vincent for completing his postdoctoral research project!
Mariana is off to Novartis – San Francisco (Research Scientist).
Breanna starts up soon at Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory – Pittsburge (Advanced Materials Engineer).
Vincents heads back to the home turf to start his next position at Synboli (Senior Scientist).

Grenning lab students share their research at the FloHet2022 poster sessions! Breanna Tomiczek and Kenny Ko shared their work on the dearomative Cope rearrangement. Sara Kearney shared her work on a Rh-catalyzed cycloisomerization reaction for accessing axially chiral cannabinoids. Michael Mannchen discussed the development of enantioselective synthesis of 3,3-dicyano-1,5-dienes. Kristin Sobie shared her recently published work on the construction of 4°/3° carbons via reductive Cope rearrangement. Great job to the team!
